'Tis from a photograph of our daughter, Emma Rose, blowing bubbles on the front porch of our little home in Petaluma, 1982. She was a very sweet child and posed well for her mother and the camera. thank you Emma!
Taking a class from Michele Micarelli calls for challenging oneself, I thought. Nancy Quigley suggested I work on a 'Portrait'. I enjoyed Michele and her class at Cambria Pines Rug Camp. She made me be honest about my hooking and I lighten the lines of Emma's eyes with her advice. Then she wanted to know if I could hook those bubbles... once I had the hi-lites hooked in, Michele was satisfied that I'd got it. While visiting Cathy Kelly, we study the completed bubbles and decide I should add some orange edges, just for fun! or good measure.
'Emmy' is selected for Celebrations XVIII! I attended the 2nd Celebration Rug Show put on by Sauder Village at their Annual Rug Retreat in Archbold, Ohio. It was great fun, a beautiful show and a wonderful venue.
